Residents will be able to share their priorities for Victoria’s parks, recreational facilities and event programming by responding to a new survey that will be used to shape the forthcoming Parks & Recreation master plan.

Parks & Recreation Director Jason Alfaro“This survey is a way for residents to make their voices heard and tell us what they really want in their parks and recreation system,” said Parks & Recreation Director Jason Alfaro. “We’re excited to learn how we can improve our services and also build upon what we’re doing well.”

The survey is available at

In the coming weeks, Parks & Recreation will also share a series of smaller surveys focused on specific parks. Responses to these focused surveys will be used to create conceptual renderings that reflect residents’ wishes for these parks. Parks & Recreation will host an open house in early March to discuss residents’ responses to the surveys and provide an additional opportunity for public input.

The survey results and comments, along with responses from Parks & Recreation, will be included in the final master plan, which is expected to be adopted in fall 2021.
