Applying for a Library Card
Library cards are free to residents of Texas. Proof of a current Texas address must be shown with at least one of the following:
- A valid Texas driver's license showing your current address.
- A Texas Department of Public Safety Identification Card showing your current address.
- A photo ID and a printed check or utility bill showing your current address.
Juvenile Library Cards are issued to children 17 years and under. A family member must sign the application and proof of current address must be shown (see above). A family member can be: the legal parent or guardian; step-parent; aunt; uncle or grandparents.
Out of State Cards are available with a $30.00 deposit. These cards expire every six (6) weeks and can be renewed for up to three (3) months. The deposit is refundable less any accrued fines or fees.
After Application for Your Card only three (3) library items may be checked out on the first use/visit. Once you receive your card by mail, however, the amount of items increases (see item amounts).
Patron Privacy: In accordance with state law the library cannot give out patron information.
